Selenium is an oligo-element which is essential to the human body. It is both a major antioxidant and a defender of the immune system, which has incidentally proved highly efficient in the prevention of several forms of cancer, and which helps to fight tiredness and anxiety.
Selenium stimulates the protein known as glutathion-peroxidase, which itself inhibits the formation of hydroxyl radicals, known to be the most reactive free radicals and the main mediators of damaged caused to the body by free radicals. With Vitamin E it contributes to the protection of the cellular membranes, by fighting against the peroxidation of fats, thanks to Ursini, another form of glutathion-peroxydase. Lastly, still thanks to glutathion-peroxidase, selenium encourages the metabolism of prostaglandins, which are substances synthesised in many tissues and organs, gifted with a great deal of physiological activity and contributing to the control of thrombocytic hyperactivity.
Selenium is also essential for correct functionning of the immune system. It seems to inhibit the reproduction of viral cells, which makes it useful in the treatment of hepatitis and AIDS (in the case of AIDS victims, the selenium rate in the blood reduces dramatically).
Many highly encouraging results have been found during epidemiology and clinical studies within the framework of the prevention of certain cancers, especially colorectal cancer, that of the prostate, lungs, oesophagus and digestive tubes.
The benefits of selenium do not end there. Selenium seems to amalgamate itself with certain toxic heavy metals like arsenic, lead, mercury and cadmium, and thereby helps our body to eliminate them via the urine. It acts most specifically in the integrity of spermatozoa and the metabolism of testosterone. It intervenes in the synthesis of nerve cells and a lack may cause depression, fatigue, anxiety, etc. Among other things, selenium deficiency is dangerous to the production of thyroid hormones.
Selenium is therefore an oligo-element that is essential to the human body. However, as the body cannot synthesis it, we must get selenium from food or supplements. As the human body only assimilates minute quantities of inorganic minerals, the method of production that we have selected consists of triggering a biochemical conversion of selenium through a natural organic product : yeast. The form of selenium is thus rendered similar to that found in plants (L(+) selenomethionin), wherein the bio-availability for the human organism is total. To the 20 mcg of selenium in each tablet, we have added 12.5 mg of natural vitamin C, extracted from acid cherries, create's a synergy in the fight against free radicals.. |

INGREDIENTS: For 1 tablet : selenium yeast (20 Mg) 0,2% titrated in organic sélenium, dry purified extract of acérola (130 Mg), 25% titrated in vitamin C.
PROPORTIONS IN ACTIVE INGREDIENTS :
- Sélenium (40 mcg)
- Vitamin C (32,5 Mg)
OTHER INGREDIENTS: FOS, cellulose, tricalcium phosphate, dextrose, sorbitol, lemon and orange flavours, stearate of magnesium.
FOOD ALLERGENS: Does not contain allergens or GMOs (in accordance with EU Directive 200389/EC).

DIRECTIONS:
4 to 6 tablets a day, spreading out over 2 doses, midday and evenings at mealtimes and according your therapist advice.
WARNINGS:
